Portrait of Marlene Dietrich as a Waterfall
Art's Description
About this painting
The idea for this painting came from an image of Marlene Dietrich in a flowing white dress which looked like a foaming water cascading over her skin.
The wet blue tentacles add more sensuality to this sexual image of a screen star transformed into a mountain. So much white water is falling here that we can almost hear its rushing sound. In the distance a second waterfall cascades into the deep grey lake, the depths from where the tentacles rise.
Painted Feb to May 2007.
