About this painting
This picture was inspired by the Kate Bush song of the same name and is the second version of this subject.
A picture about isolation. A hand painted in dull yellows and violets reaches towards a distant Earth. The neutral grey lunar landscape reinforces the difference between the cold moon and the warm distant planet above.
Technical details
The deep blackness of outer space was acheived with several layers of colour, first red, then blue, then brown, then violet. The detail image above shows an area approximately 40mm square.
